January round up – new year, new yarns
We have had a cracking start to the year. The KnitBritish100 event was our first public outing with the yarn. I gave a short talk about how our venture started and then had the opportunity to show the yarns in a truck show. It was really helpful to meet so many super keen knitters who could squish the yarn, provide feedback on what we were doing and come up with ideas for new yarns for the future. The feedback was incredibly encouraging, particularly the welcome for our forthcoming alpaca/Cheviot blend. We are in the process of knitting some samples with it and will keep you posted. In the meantime, we hope to get out and about more this year and look forward to meeting more knitters.
In the meantime, we have added the second batch of our Alpaca/Blue Faced Leicester/Teeswater 4ply. This one is more tightly spun, with less of a halo. It’s more suited for socks, while the original produces gorgeous shawls on bigger needles. Both are gentle greys and soft enough to be worn next to the skin – hope you love them and thanks so much for your support, Jane x Alpaca, Blue Faced Leicester and Teeswater 4 ply
